Stark began recreating the Silver Centurian armor as a method of working out ideas and experimenting. The S-circuit, which uses its energy more efficiently, is an example of the breakthrough developed by Stark, using the armor as a model. With the destruction of Circuits Maximus by Obadiah Stane, Stark donned the newest set of armor to battle the foe that stripped him of his business, his friends, and almost his life. The battle with Stane was the first field test of this armor, and resulted in the defeat of Stane and the destruction of Stane International..
- Body Armor:
- Electric-powered, iron-alloy, molecular scale chain mail maintained by the magnetic field. Armor is made of Remarkable material, bolstered by a magnetic field to Amazing material when in operation.
- Amazing protection from physical damage.
- Monstrous protection from most energy attacks (see below)
- Unearthly protection from radiation.
- Amazing resistance to heat and cold.
- Incredible resistance to acid.
- Unearthly resistance to electrical attacks.
- Force Field
- Created by a “hardening” of the magnetic field, shunting power from other systems.
- May be used only 1 round per hour safely (see Overrides).
- Raises body armor for Slugfest and concussive damage to Monstrous.
- Raises resistance to energy attacks to Unearthly.
- Repulsor and other weapon or detection systems may not be used when force field is in operation.
- Flight
- High-speed duo-source turbines located in boots.
- Normal flight of 10 areas per round, maximum of 30 rounds.
- May reach Unearthly speeds (50 areas/ round) outside the atmosphere.
- Turbines have a high efficiency, and can function at the very borders of the atmosphere.
- If used as weapons, the boots inflict Incredible damage to targets in the same area.
- Repulsors
- Medium density plasma projectors located in each gauntlet, outlet located in palm.
- Range of 10 areas.
- Inflicts up to Amazing damage. May inflict less at the discretion of the user.
- May be fired at separate targets (red FEAT, yellow for Tony Stark, Jim Rhodes), for up to Amazing damage, no target may receive more than Amazing damage.
- Pulse-Bolts
- High-density pulsed plasma projectors located in the wrist of each gauntlet.
- Range of 10 areas.
- Inflicts Monstrous damage. May not inflict less than Monstrous damage, and may disintegrate materials of Remarkable or less material.
- May not be fired at separate targets.
- Unibeam
- Chest-mounted high-intensity lamp.
- Illumination up to 3 areas away.
- May blind an opponent using Remarkable intensity.
- Beam may convert to laser/energy release, inflicting Amazing damage up to 3 areas away.
- Illumination of unibeam extends into the ultraviolet and infrared bands of the spectrum.
- Thermal Beam
- Also a component of the chest-plate assembly, the thermal beam is a high intensity heat beam.
- May inflict Incredible damage up to 3 areas away.
- Will melt metals of less than Incredible material strength.
- Disruptor Field
- Generated from gauntlets, may be directed up to 2 areas away.
- Overloads electronic equipment and guidance systems with Remarkable intensity. Electrical equipment without an Endurance rank is overloaded on a green FEAT roll.
- Energy Absorption
- Circuitry may absorb up to an Unearthly amount of energy each round for 4 rounds.
- Up to 4 rounds of Unearthly rank energy, or 400 points of potential energy damage, may be so stored.
- Stored energy may be redirected through the unibeam or other weapon systems, inflicting up to Monstrous damage until the excess is depleted.
- Stored energy retained beyond 4 rounds can damage circuitry. Make an Endurance FEAT roll or energy is discharged, inflicting Good damage on the wearer.
- All forms of non-concussive energy may be stored within the armor, including heat and light energy.
- Air Supply
- Fully functional life-support systems may function for an undetermined period underwater and in a vacuum.
- High-efficiency reprocessors may result in total environmental independence for an unlimited period of time.
- Energy Storage
- Unlike previous versions, energy is stored within the suit’s circuitry, such that individual parts of the suit retain a “charge” if separated from the rest.
- Enough “charge” remains in a disconnected gauntlet to fire one repulsor beam of Amazing strength.
- Enough “charge” remains in a boot unit to fly with Good speed for 5 rounds.
- Enough “charge” remains to power all helmet operations normally.
- The chest unit needs no residual charge, and may operate normally.
- Override
- As with previous versions, the newest suit may be overridden by removal of the safety interfaces.
- Strength or repulsor damage may be raised to Unearthly by overriding existing systems.
- All other systems may be overridden by a single rank.
- Each round of override, the wearer must make a yellow FEAT roll on the Feeble column.
- Failure indicates the armor is immobilized and must be repaired.
- Detection Equipment
- Radar/sonar/heat detection sensors implanted in armor and helmet.
- Range of 10 areas.
- Vital signs detector which may be keyed to specific individuals in advance. Range of ten miles
- Nightvision Lense: Nightvision lens allows the wearer to see in normal darkness up to 3 areas away.
- Scanner program is keyed to particular typical threats (missiles, bombs), functioning at the Remarkable level.
- Energy detection equipment allows the wearer to “see” hidden electrical cables and equipment up to 1 area away, noting their power flow through up to Remarkable material.
- Multi-Band Radio
- AM/FM, short wave, civilian, and navigation bands may be monitored through the helmet.
- Receives own wavelength and those of defense organizations, including S.H.l.E.L.D.
- May tie in with satellite and computer networks.
- Has emergency beeper.
- Range on all of above, 200 miles.
- Sonic Distorter
- Installed in the throat of the helmet, this mechanism cuts out the high and low frequencies of the wearer’s voice, hiding the owner’s identity.
- Further scrambling negates the effects of electronic voice-detectors and similar devices with Amazing ability.
- Electronic Countermeasures:
- Electronic Countermeasures provide Remarkable protection from electronic detection, including radar.
- The Iron Man armor has Unearthly protection from signals designed to take control of the armor and interfering with its performance.
- An implanted holographic projector in the armor allows the suit to blend in with the background. While not invisible, this provides Remarkable protection from visual sighting. Against complex backgrounds, the projector only provides Good protection against being seen.
- Eye Protection
- Polarized eye shields installed in the helmet drop into place to protect the wearer from being blinded by bright lights.
- Sudden polarization causes 1 round of blindness.
- Alter Ego: When not wearing the Ironman suit Tony Stark has the following abilities:

Contacts
As a former industrialist playboy, Tony Stark has numerous contacts throughout the engineering, business and entertainment world. He also has numerous contacts throughout the intelligence community, thanks to his former days as a munitions developer. Finally, he is founding member of the Avengers, and is a close friend and ally of Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, the Black Widow, Jack of Hearts, and Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. His personal confidants include James Rhodes (formerly Iron Man II; formerly War Machine I), Bethany Cabe, Harold Hogan, and Pepper Potts.
History
Anthony Stark was born to the family of Howard Stark (a wealthy industrialist) and Maria Stark, and inherited the family company at an early age. When he was in Viet Nam supervising his US munitions supply, he was fataly wounded in the heart and captured by communists who wanted him to build a weapon for them. Instead, he created the first of the Iron Man armors that would help his health as well as providing an escape. He was helped fleeing the country by James Rhodes.
Stark kept himself alive through the use of the armored chest plate, and played a dual role as industrialist / millionaire / playboy Stark, and bodyguard / Stark employee / adventurer Iron Man, stopping corporate espionage, founding and supplying SHIELD, and founding and joining the Avengers. Later, among various armor redesigns, Stark recieved a heart transplant, oblivating the need for his armored pacemaker chest plate.
Then, over time and during Stark's long bout with alcoholism, Obadiah Stane managed to wrest control of Stark's company and bring Stark to virtual poverty. At this time, Rhodes took on the Iron Man identiy. Soon, Stark and his friends were able to form a successful rival company, Circutis Maximus. After a while, Stark's battle with Stane was brought to a head, and Stark regained control of his father's company. Stark also began his recovery from alcoholism.
Soon, he discovered that technology developed by Stark Int'l was being used by armored criminals, and thus began a long "Armor War" as Stark tracked down all evidence of his corrupted technology. This led him to violate many laws, and even kill the Soviet agent, Gremlin. The US Army sent an armored soldier, Firepower, to apprehend Stark, who ultimately faked his death, using an "Iron-Man-as-Stark-employee"excuse to come back as Iron Man again.
Later, he was shot by Kathy Dare, an old girlfriend in an insane rage of jealousy. This left him severly injured, paralyzed from the waist down. He could, however, fully function while in the Iron Man armor, and he remained increasingly dependant on the armor until a microchip device was implanted in his spine to enable him to walk again. However, his body later rejected the implant, and Stark's body was put in a cyrogenic freeze, after which Stark legeally died, and Rhodes took over running Stark's business.
Stark recovered, however, and took on the mantle of iron once again, much to the chagrin of pinch-hitter Rhodes. Rhodes left Stark Int'l to become his own hero, War Machine, although Stark and Rhodes later repaired their friendship.
Subsequent activities led Iron Man to help disband the Avengers' West Coast branch and set up Force Works, before he influenced by the time-travelling manipulator Immortus. Becoming a traitor to the Avengers, Stark murdered the Avengers' nanny Marilla, Avengers' associate Yellowjacket II, and even a Force Works public relations manager. Stark ultimately faught a younger version of himself (brought from the past to fight him,) with both heroes mortally wounding the other. Before he passed away, Tony Stark tried to redeem himself by providing plans for a pacemaker chest plate that would save the life of his younger self and would pave the way for him to be the next Iron Man.
This new Iron Man later sacrificed himself to the psychic-energy villain Onslaught, and was shunted to a pocket universe. Upon re-emerging from this universe, Iron Man was reborn into the body and the memories of Tony Stark as he appeared before Immortus' manipulations. Finding Stark International bought by the Fujikawa Corporation, Tony Stark set up a new business for himself, Stark Solutions, as a technological consulting firm, and reassumed the Iron Man indentiy. Iron Man was on hand to reassemble the Avengers as well. Stark set up a new base of operations in his Seattle home, and eventually rescued the robot Jocasta, allowing her to interface with his mansion's computer systems.
Tony Stark continues to adventure as Iron Man.
