History
Lyla was found as a child floating in the sea, the sole survivor of a shipwreck on the high seas. Brought onboard the Monitor's satellite, Lyla was groomed to be his assistant and heir. She helped the Monitor record all known history, cataloging the abilities of numerous metahumans throughout time and space.

When the terrible event known as the Crisis came, Lyla became Harbinger, a powerful resource in the Monitor's war against the Anti-Monitor. Harbinger gathered the world's heroes, but was unknowingly tainted by the Anti-Monitor. Against her will, she slew the man she loved like a father.

Lyla forced herself to go on, however, leading the heroes to ultimate victory. After the Crisis, Harbinger travelled with Lady Quark and Pariah for a time, exploring the world and finishing The History of the DC Universe, which was sent off into space as the lasting legacy of the Monitor.

Harbinger later became a member of the New Guardians and later still assisted Pariah and the J.L.A in resolving the chronal crisis. Where Lyla is today is unknown.
