- Energy Doppleganger: He is able to create an energy duplicate, known as Double X, an entity living in a symbiotic relationship with Ecks. Sharing Ecks' consciousness yet able to act independently, Double X has:
- Flight: It can fly at Amazing air speed. He often will carry Ecks with him when he flies.
- Electrical bolts: It can generate Amazing lightning like bolts.
- Strength: It has Amazing strength.
Limitation
- The energy body needs repeated infusions of electrical energy to sustain his existence. Unless Ecks remains fully charged, Double X is forced to return to his dormant state in Eck's body

History
A lonely and introverted research scientist Dr. Simon Ecks discovered that the energy auras that surround every human being could be amplified, strengthened given enormous power and enabled to function separately from their host body. Ecks without waiting to test his invention used it on himself and created an energy duplicate he dubbed Double X and his fragile mind unhinged by the experiment and now dominated by his energy duplicate went on a crime spree.
Defeated by The Batman and Robin, Ecks was committed to Arkham Asylum for the criminally insane. Escaping months later from the Asylum, Ecks recreated his energy duplicate and renewed his crime spree but was defeated when batman created his own energy duplicate to defeat him. In fact Double X was not really dead but asleep in Ecks body. Ecks realized this and stuck his finger in a light socket and this time it took the combined efforts of Batman and Superman to thwart his plans.
Escaping from Arkham one final time, Ecks joined forces with Rainbow Raider but was defeated by the Batman and The Flash. Ecks is currently in Arkham Asylum, but for how long remains to be seen.
