As they stop and step aside at the doorway, opening it, I pause taking a deep breath feeling the somber aire which seems to emanate from inside, looking down just to see if everything seems in place, really not used to being dressed so fancy. Much rather used to the plain clothes I used to wear, I know I must act the role of Queen, or rather, Queen-to-be. Peeking up through strands of dark hair hanging down, I push them back, and take another deep breath before stepping through the door, quickly licking mine lips to wet them as I walk into the Temple, trying to find someone I at least recognize. Knowing I have to get used to this sooner or later. Finally stopping, unsure if tis right or naught, I bring mine hands out to the sides and lower mine head to all gathered.~ Greetings, all, welcome to Camelot, I truly regret tis for the reasons this day, but I do pray thee leave with a lighter heart then thee come knowing a true knight hast found his way to his higher calling, a Lord. |

I then look about and nod to all as I continue.........................Greeting and welcome Milords and Miladies. We are gathered here in memory of Tarthos (Steve), a valiant warrior friend and hero to all. (In real life and in Role Play.) We come here with heavy hearts as the lands of the living loose another great soul, not to sword or spell but to time and a horrible disease. Today though should not be a day of grief but of rejoicing for our friend for he is no longer suffering the pains and toils of this world, but has passed on to a better place. We remember him for his great deeds and times that we had with him. (In real life and in Role Play) Though we feel the sorrow and loss of his passing he will be forever in our hearts and minds, and as such, the tales of his deeds will make him as immortal as all who have graced, and been apart of the lands of Camelot. Tarthos always was there to help someone who needed it, and showed the true qualities of a knight and gentleman, and with his loss the world will mourn as we have to all great spirits who have passed on. Though that is the thing Tarthos (Steve) has not disappeared he has passed on and he will be with us always in our hearts our mind and our souls as he had touched every part of our lives. There is an old metaphor which I like to use and say. Our lives are like that of a caterpillar. We start our lives as a lowly caterpillar and we crawl across the land and suffer many problems and heart aches but that is why we are in such a lowly form. It is when we die that we form our cocoon and in there we become our true self so that when we break free and we break free when we die we become this beautiful butterfly to fly free into a better life with no hurts and pains only freedom. At this time I wish for all here to share a fond memory of our departed friend. To share his tales and to help to keep him in our hearts and minds and to build his tale as all the tales that have grown from Camelot..................I say and wait till the end for mine. |

I let my own weight go limp and before we both went into the water, he let go. I dropped in and he flew back up. I surprised him by not coming out in true form. but in human form instead. he never forgot that and when I tried it the next time, he was ready... thats how he was. always ready for the unexpected |

Be it dragon, humanoid or whatever, he was a person hardly anyone would forget ~smiles~ He was a stabilising factor for many and helped keep many of us level headed and on an even keel. We'd spoken much over the years, but I'm sad to say I lost touch with him more recently... As level headed as he was, he knew how to have fun, and he made sure those around him joined in ~nods~ One memorable time for me was when he and I sparred in dragon form, it was the first time I'd sparred in that form, online and it was educational, fun and pretty darned messy for anything caught in our wake. Regardless of the damage, we had fun and I remember that with a fond smile. As I said, he was a good man, and while he'll be missed, he still lives on, in spirit and within those who's hearts he touched, mine included. |

I listen to all hear smiling and remembering some things and wishing I had been there for others.........................I can not hold my tongue any longer as I had met Tarthos in another realm far from here and he was one of the ones that helped to build up Camelot Reborn, and watch her grow from her infancy till the day he set off like many others to find more adventure and spread his goodness and friendship with others. He was my First Knight and I remember every night as I would head to bed I would turn the watch over to him. That was our nightly ritual when this land first opened up and he brought so much fun and entertainment where ever he was. The last time that we were together was with King Agustin and on a fishing trip. Me and King Agustin would have our occasional fishing trip in the Lake here in Camelot and there were many times we were not sure if we were trying to catch the fish or vise versa, but on that last time we were in the boat Agustin brought his Scotch I think it was and I had some Fae wine and Tarthos was joining us in passing the bottle. Somewhere in the middle of it we had an anchor thrown over board as well as one of us kings and then after everyone was fished back into the boat I think it was Tarthos who managed to drop the anchor through the bottom of the boat after one of us managed to catch the Queen as she was swimming after a fish and then they were yanked over board. All through the whole ordeal. I did manage to keep that bottle of Fae Wine above the water. Which I am very proud of myself in doing so. In the end I managed to use a shadow to teleport the boat back to shore and Tarthos torched it just to ensure there would be no more trips for awhile. He was a good man and he will be missed and grieved for a long time.......................I say to all who are here |
